My mother passed away on Wednesday February 22.She just turned 89 on Feb 9. I found this old yellowed newspaper page at the bottom of a box stuffed in a closet. It was torn and yellowed with age but it perfectly captures the essence of who she was. I'd never seen it before I stumbled upon it and now it is my most treasured memento. The caption beneath the photo reads- Charlotte Hill of 422 Washington St., Syracuse, lively George Washington School Pupil, symbolizes the spirit of health. " When spring unlocks the flowers to paint the laughing soil." |
