Actually,everybody doesn't know

"Everybody knows the dice are loaded..."
           Leonard Cohen

Divide and conquer. Sun Tzu did it. Julius Caesar did it. Goebells did it. And now Wall Street
has perfected it.There is really only one political party in the U.S. and that is the money party.
They divide the population into groups; Democrats and Republicans,or liberals and conservatives or the Godless and the God fearing. Whatever works.  Pit one group against the other and both will act against their own self interests.

Legislation is gridlocked. Democrats blame Republicans, Republicans blame Democrats and the Military/Industrial/Financial complex carries on business as usual.
The masses are busy producing and  consuming to provide the exponential growth required to maintain the status quo. Democracy? Mostly a useful myth. Occasionally, elections provide the illusion of choice.  Acceptable candidates are selected and  financed by the corporations and the public votes for one of two choices.  Independent or third party aberrations like Ralph Nader or Ross Perot  introduce uncomfortable ideas into the discussion and  appear only as footnotes on the ballots. Media attention, participation in debates and access to funding is not allowed.  Controversial issues like the wearing of flag pins, abortion or the plot to destroy Christmas grab the attention of the sheeple while the business of business continues unmolested.
George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Dwight Eisenhower all warned that this would happen if we let it. And we did. We the people allow ourselves to kill and be killed in unnecessary wars,  abandon the ideals that we claim makes us the greatest nation on earth, deny ourselves health care, and divide ourselves against ourselves in the service of multinational corporations whose only mandate is to increase profits and we do it willingly. We are the willfully ignorant and we have the government we deserve.

“Corrupted by wealth and power, your government is like a restaurant with only one dish. They’ve got a set of Republican waiters on one side and a set of Democratic waiters on the other side. But no matter which set of waiters brings you the dish, the legislative grub is all prepared in the same Wall Street kitchen.”
–Huey Long

Have a nice day.
